REQUIREMENTS

These are the things everyone is responsible for completing…

 Weekly Requirements

Okay folks, it’s SUPER important that we focus on Week 3 activities today. I spoke with my partner educator from Morocco over the weekend and I committed to the below, so please make it a priority…

Guiding Question for this week:

How has my identity been influenced by various factors?

Learning Objective:

Students will be able to think critically about their identity and the various factors that shape their identity, including the communities to which they belong.

Tasks:

The following things should be completed today…

  1. Please log in to GNG Connect and post your Cultural Introductions into Lesson 3.
  2. While there, please look to see if any of our partners have posted their cultural introductions and comment on them.
  3. Please also check in Lesson 2 “Our Questions” and reply to questions. Some don’t have any, but even if they do, you can still comment on them.
  4. Please do the same for the #Everydaylife section. And respond to others who have commented on your posts.
  5. If you have pics posted in the #Everydaylife section, please check them. As I mentioned last week, there was a technical issue and many of the pics were deleted. If yours were deleted, please re-upload them.
  6. Respond to the reflection questions posted HERE in the form of a comment.

A quick note about leaving comments…remember, the larger goal is to encourage dialogue. Rather than say ‘oh, what a nice picture you took’, perhaps something like, “It looks like you’re having fun…who is that with you? What were you doing in this picture? Where were you? Is this something you do often or was this a special occasion?” Do you see the difference? You’re encouraging them to respond with more information. And when they do, you can keep it going. Rather than have that be the end, ask something else that helps you to know them a bit better. Dialogue. Back and forth. Conversation.

Please also look back at last week’s GNG tab as there are some questions I’d like you to be able to answer. We can discuss them as a group next week.

OPTIONAL

These are the extra things you may choose to do throughout the week if you like.

The following are things you may choose to do for additional miles (MI) as well as capital (C) – not to mention to grow and learn and become better. Sometimes these optional items will relate directly to the work you’re doing, other times they will be random. Either way, they represent things the Guide feels are worth your time. As always, though, the required items above are the priority. Feel free to do these on your own time as well.

Nothing new this week, though feel free to suggest an adventure you’d like to complete…I’m always open to you taking charge of your learning.
