REQUIREMENTS

These are the things everyone is responsible for completing…

Weekly Requirements

Yay! A full week!!

This week, you’re going to complete the following:

  1. Publish your DPU
  2. Continue exploring your content area
  3. Weekly Conference – though I’m still working out if/how I’ll be changing them.
  4. Begin Global Nomads program (some of you).

Your required tasks are below.

PUBLISH YOUR DPU
Below are a few reminders about your DPU

  • Remember to read the Guide’s feedback from last week and MAKE THE NECESSARY IMPROVEMENTS for this week.
  • Again, consider reading the DPU Tutorial to get super clear on what is expected in each section.

ENGAGE IN YOUR CONTENT AREA
This will either be developing your inquiry OR going through the Coursera course you’ve chosen.

Your required tasks are listed below.

ENGAGE IN YOUR CONTENT AREA

CONFERENCES TODAY
Please see the board for today’s conference schedule.

Your required tasks are listed below.

ENGAGE IN YOUR CONTENT AREA

CONFERENCES TODAY
I’ll be working down the class roster for one-on-one conferences.

GLOBAL NOMADS
For those involved, please click on the GNG tab (next to this Friday tab) and get started on that first. This will take us a bit of time today, but you will have time to work on the above as well.

Hello friend! Before you go on, please understand that this tab is ONLY for those students participating in the Global Nomads program. If that’s not you, kindly move along. Otherwise, keep reading.

Okay, before we do anything, it’s important that you learn a little bit about Morocco by checking out what the CIA World Fact Book has to say. Please access the below link and have a look around.

  • First, click on the continent of Africa (green).
  • Then, click on Morocco (top left – as you hover over the countries, their names appear)
  • Below the pics and maps, you’ll see a number of expandable sections (Intro, Geography, People and Society, etc). Please click through them.
  • Be prepared to discuss 3 things you learned and found interesting.

NOTE: We’ll get together as a group to talk about it, and you can’t repeat what someone else has already said. Soooo, you may want to come with more than 3 things in case someone else has already spoken about one or two of yours (it pays to speak up first).

World Fact Book

I’ll make an announcement after a short while and you can all come to the conference table so we can discuss. We’ll also go through all of the below together, so you don’t need to go through it first.

AS A GROUP:
We are beginning our work with the Global Nomads program today, and our goals include…

  • Get clear on what the Global Nomads Campfire Program is, and what the goals of the program are
  • Understand how the curriculum is organized
  • Practice getting logged into the digital platform (GNG Connect) where we’ll connect with students from Morocco
  • Post a group photo/video
  • Complete the Pre-Program Survey

We’re going to start with a quick video that should help explain the program.
GNG Campfire Program Video

The Guide will explain a few things, hand out your Student Guide (which we will review together), and then we’ll watch another brief intro video.
GNG Campfire Program Video

There are just a couple of activities we need to complete in order to be ready for next week, when we’ll begin Lesson 1. They include:

  1. Log into the GNG Connect
  2. Post a group selfie and a brief video to introduce ourselves
  3. Respond to the pics/video of our partner school *IF* they’ve already posted them
  4. Look ahead to Lesson 1 –
    Watch this Video
  5. Take the Pre Program Survey (you need a code, so don’t do this until instructed, please)

OPTIONAL

These are the extra things you may choose to do throughout the week if you like.

The following are things you may choose to do for additional miles (MI) as well as capital (C) – not to mention to grow and learn and become better. Sometimes these optional items will relate directly to the work you’re doing, other times they will be random. Either way, they represent things the Guide feels are worth your time. As always, though, the required items above are the priority. Feel free to do these on your own time as well.

One coming soon, and it will be connected to using Google Calendar, setting goals, etc.
