Content Area Options

The moment you've all been waiting for! Yep, ready or not, it's time to dig into content. Sure, we could have spent another month or two getting clear on how to find our way in The Narrows, but that'd just be silly.

Learn by doing...that's the way forward. So as you explore your content, build your inquiry, meet with the Guide, and publish your DPUs, you will surely discover your own path here. And that's as it should be. Ready?

As I've mentioned already, and as the slide-show on the home page states as well, we will have 3 content area options (with a 4th one of your choosing, should you get that far) to choose from. They are:

  1. Of the People, By the People, For the People
    • An exploration into American Democracy
  2. American Makers
    • A closer look at America's Industrial Revolution
  3. World Domination
    • Investigating how, and why, America became the world's only Superpower
  4. The Coursera Option
    • You'll actually have 6 course titles to choose from

You get to decide which content area to dig into first and, as the Content and Skills Adventure suggested, you also get to decide which specific topic within that content area to build your inquiry around.

There's plenty more to know about the inquiry process (and you'll get more familiar with it as we go), but THIS adventure is all about the content, and getting clear about what each content area offers us in terms of opportunity and obligation. So read on, friend, there are decisions to make...

Okay, so you want to know more about each of these content areas, do ya? Fantastic. Click on through to the Google Doc linked to below and read very closely. It's critical you understand each content area because you're going to have to pick the one you're starting with before you leave today.

Each content card is set up the same way, with a brief introduction to start, a list of requirements in the middle, and a link to a resource library at the end where you'll find an initial, optional set of resources you might want to explore as you begin your research and pursue Emerging Expertise.

Alrighty then, here you go...
